Please check out your state’s rules and regulations for more detailed information. Dates do not include youth seasons.

Alabama

  • Season Dates: March 21 - May 3 (varies by zone and county)
  • Bag Limit: Gobblers Only: One a day; five during combined fall and spring

 Alaska

Arizona

  • Season Dates: Merriam’s Turkey - Apr 24 - Apr 30, and May 8 - May 21, 2020; Gould’s Turkey - May 1 - May 7, and May 15 - May 28, 2020; Rio Grande Turkey - Apr 24 - Apr 30, and May 8-May 21, 2020
  • Bag Limit: One (1) turkey per calendar year except as prescribed in R12-4-120

Arkansas

  • Season Dates: April 13 - 28; April 13 - 21(varies by zone and county)
  • Bag Limit: two legal turkeys, no jakes. Hunters 6 to 15 years old may harvest one jake as part of their two-bird limit during the season (including the youth hunt). Hunters may not exceed any zone harvest limits. No more than one legal turkey may be taken per day. (varies by zone and county)

California

  • Season Dates: General - Mar 28 - May 3, 2020; Archery Only - May 4-17, 2020
  • Bag Limit: 1 bearded; 3 per season, combined

Colorado

  • Season Dates: April 11 - May 31 (Hunt dates vary by license type and hunt location)
  • Bag Limit: One bearded bird via an over-the-counter permit. Hunters may take an additional bird if they also draw a limited spring turkey permit

Connecticut

  • Season Dates: April 29 - May 30 State Land, Private Land, and Landowner
  • Bag Limit: 5 bearded birds (on private land or state land or a combination of both) - New Regulation

Delaware

  • Season Dates: Segment dates (A-D) for Public Land (A) April 11 – April 17; (B) April 18 – April 24; (C) April 25 – May 1; (D) May 2 – May 9
  • Bag Limit: Bearded birds only. Bag limit is one turkey per year

Florida

  • Season Dates: North of State Road 70 - March 21 – April 26; South of State Road 70 - March 7 – April 12
  • Bag Limit: 2 for all spring seasons

Georgia

  • Season Dates: Mar. 21 – May 15, 2020
  • Bag Limit: 3 Gobblers per season, including Special Opportunity season.

Hawaii

  • Season Dates: Check regulations

Idaho

  • Season Dates: General season – April 10 - May 25
  • Bag Limit: The maximum number of turkeys that may
    be legally taken, caught or killed by any one (1) person during a
    calendar day: During spring seasons the daily bag limit is two bearded
    turkeys, using a general tag and an extra tag.

Illinois

Kansas

  • Season Dates: April 15 - May 31
  • Bag Limit: Any individual who has purchased a spring turkey permit is eligible for one second turkey game tag. Spring game tags are valid for Units 1 and 2. Bag limits in Units 3, 5, and 6 (Northeast, Southcentral, and Southeast) have been reduced from two turkeys to one turkey.

Kentucky

  • Season Dates: April 18 - May 10
  • Bag Limit: A hunter may take a male turkey or a turkey with a visible beard. No more than one (1) bird may be taken per day. No more than two (2) birds may be taken per spring season. Any combination of male turkeys, or turkeys with visible beards, may be included in this two-bird season limit.

Louisiana

  • Season Dates: Area A: April 4 – May 3; Area B: April 4 - 26; Area C: April 4 - 19
  • Bag Limit: One gobbler per day; Two gobblers per season

Maine

  • Season Dates: Wildlife Management Districts 7, 9-29 May 4 - June 6; Wildlife Management Districts 1-6 and 8 May 4 - June 6
  • Bag Limit: Districts 7, 9-29 - 2 bearded; Districts 1-6 and 8 - 1 bearded

Maryland

  • Season Dates: April 18–May 23
  • Bag Limit: 1 bearded turkey per day, 2 bearded turkeys per season

Massachusetts

  • Season Dates: April 27 - May 23
  • Bag Limit: 2 bearded birds (2 birds may be harvested on the same day)

Michigan

  • Season Dates: April 18 - May 31
  • Bag Limit: One bearded turkey per licensed hunter

Minnesota

  • Season Dates: April 15 - May 31 (varies by zone and county)
  • Bag Limit: The bag limit for the spring hunt is one wild turkey with a visible beard

Mississippi

  • Season Dates: March 14 – May 1
  • Bag Limit: One (1) adult gobbler or 1 gobbler with a 6-inch or longer beard per day, 3 per Spring season

Missouri

  • Season Dates: April 20 - May 10
  • Bag Limit: Two male turkeys or turkeys with visible beard may be taken during the season, with the following restrictions

Montana

  • Season Dates: April 11 - May 17
  • Bag Limit: Varies by region (check regulations)

Nebraska

  • Season Dates: Archery opens March 25, shotgun opens April 18 and the season doesn’t close until May 31.
  • Bag Limit: Nebraska Game and Parks allows hunters to purchase up to three permits in the spring, and each allow for the harvest of one male or female bearded turkey

Nevada

  • Season Dates: Varies (check regulations)
  • Bag Limit: One bearded turkey

New Hampshire

  • Season Dates: May 1–May 31
  • Bag Limit: Turkey hunters may take one (1) male or bearded turkey during the spring season and a second turkey of either sex during the fall seasons, OR hunters may take two (2) male or bearded turkeys during the upcoming spring season. However, the first spring turkey must be legally registered before the second spring turkey can be taken, and the second spring turkey can only be taken in WMUs H1, H2, J2, K, L, or M.

New Jersey

  • Season Dates: All Saturdays, April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 16 (Permit Only)
  • Bag Limit: During the spring season, only male turkey may be taken; bearded hens may not be taken in the spring. During both seasons, the bag limit is one turkey per permit, but only one bird may be taken in a given day, regardless of the number of permits a hunter holds

New Mexico

  • Season Dates: April 15 - May 10
  • Bag Limit: Two bearded turkeys

New York

  • Season Dates: May 1 - May 31
  • Bag Limit: Two bearded turkeys (one bird per day)

North Carolina

  • Season Dates: April 11 - May 9
  • Bag Limit: Daily limit 1; Possession and season limit 2, only one of which may be taken during the youth season

North Dakota

  • Season Dates: April 11 - May 17
  • Bag Limit: One bearded wild turkey

Ohio

  • Season Dates: The northeast zone for turkey shall be defined as Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull counties and is open May 4, 2020 through May 31, 2020. The south zone for turkey shall be the remaining eighty-three counties not included in the northeast zone and is open April 20, 2020 through May 17, 2020
  • Bag Limit: Two bearded turkeys per season; no more than one per day

Oklahoma

  • Season Dates: April 6 - May 6; (SE): April 20 - May 6
  • Bag Limit: Statewide bag limit is three. County limits vary, so check regulations.

Oregon

  • Season Dates: Apr. 15 – May 31
  • Bag Limit: Three gobblers or turkeys with visible beards

Pennsylvania

  • Season Dates: May 2 - 30
  • Bag Limit: Daily limit 1, season limit 2. (Second spring gobbler may be only taken by persons who possess a valid special wild turkey license.)

Rhode Island

  • Season Dates: April 30 – May 24
  • Bag Limit: 2 bearded birds

South Carolina

  • Season Dates: Private lands Game Zone 1 and 2: April 1 – May 10
    Private lands Game Zone 3 and 4: March 22 – April 30. WMA lands statewide: April 1 – May 5. Some WMAs may be more restrictive, see Spring Turkey Seasons on WMAs for specified hunt dates.
  • Bag Limit: Resident hunters will be limited to three turkeys per season, with only one turkey per day; Nonresident hunters are limited to two turkeys per season with no more than one per day

South Dakota

  • Season Dates: April 4 – May 31 (varies by zone and county)
  • Bag Limit: One bird; varies by unit, check regulations

Tennessee

  • Season Dates: April 4 – May 17
  • Bag Limit: One (1) bearded turkey per day, not to exceed four (4) per season (Rules may vary by area/draw, check regulations)

Texas

  • Season Dates: Rio Grande - North Zone Apr. 4 - May 17, 2020; Rio Grande - South Zone Mar. 21 - May 3, 2020; Rio Grande - Special 1 Turkey Bag Limit Apr. 1 - 30, 2020; Eastern Turkey Apr. 22 - May 14, 2020
  • Bag Limit: Four turkeys, but no more than one Eastern wild turkey

Utah

Vermont
