So guys I figured I'd do a little comparison video on the different Molt Gear Calls that I have. I just got a Reflex and an X-Series and I got a brand new Rush insert so I figured I'd do a video - like a comparison video on what the difference of these calls is / are. Well how would I even say that is / are. Whatever, this is not a grammar show. So, in my opinion the X-Series is not one of my favorite calls. It's a deeper sounding call. I do notice that it is a little harder for me to break it over. I'm not used to blowing an X-Series type of call. I'm used to the Rush where it's really easy to break over and you can just run through and rip. The Reflex is pretty similar except the only difference is it has a bigger barrel than the Rush and it's shaped a little differently, but the insert is a lot shorter and so in my opinion it produces a higher pitch call and I'm going to use it for trafficking for sure. My Rush is my go-to for sure. I love that call - I'm not going to go to a different goose call; however, if what I'm doing on the Rush doesn't sound good to the geese I'm going to switch over to the Reflex. And this is what a lot of my friends have been doing. Is when the Rush or the X-Series doesn't work in form they pull out a higher pitch call to grab their attention when the trafficking. Here's what it sounds like…

So as you can tell it still can get down, dirty, and nasty with it, but at the same time when I'm really pushing my air through it, it sounds a lot higher pitch. And it's almost the lesser sound or cackler or less or whatever. And then we have the good old Rush - this is my boy it's my boy blue. So, now without the broken insert and a little bit of retuning messing with the reed. I currently have a bubble in my read on and off you can see that, but it's still. Yes, it's broken in. You know what the Rush sounds like, and I've done so many other videos on the Rush. You already know what it sounds like, but for comparison for this video…

And then the X-series like I said before. It's more of your competition call, but it's a deeper - it's a much deeper sounding call. The only reason why I personally don't like it. I mean it might be how it's tuned or whatever and I'm pretty sure I said at the beginning in the video this is all my own personal preference so don't take it as like the Bible. But you know this is my opinion, it's not something I want to hunt with. But apparently, it's the call to use on stage so here's what it sounds like…

So just a different pitch. It kind of sounds flat to me and that might be the tuning as well. I have to tune it up and I'm going to bring it over to Nick Johnson and make him tune it for me. But yeah that's the difference as you can tell. I'm going to blow them all side by side just so you can hear them too…

There's some talking in between, but once again this is the Reflex, Rush and then the X-Series so take that for yourself. If you're looking for that lower call - X-Series. If you're looking for the middle ground – Rush. If you're looking for the higher pitched – Reflex. Hope this helps you guys out on selecting different goose calls from Molt Gear. I love the Molt Gear call. They're amazing.
