This crossbow is rated as the most powerful and the most accurate long-range crossbow ever made. It’s also one of the only models to have the Garmin Xero X1i range finding crossbow scope. This is easily its best feature and makes it much more unique compared to similar products on the market.
The scope is 31 inches long and can deliver a speed of up to 470 feet per second. It’s also the first-ever built-in-range finding crossbow scope. You can simply press the touchpad mounted just above the trigger. The scope will automatically display an illuminated single dot Aimpoint.
It also automatically adjusts for both distance and brightness. This gives you one of the cleanest field-of-views so you can see your target with unobstructed reticle patterns. The scope also has a 3.5X lens magnification, a built-in shot counter, and Target Lock and Steady Shot functions. These added functions help to make aiming easier. The Laser Locate waypoint projection feature also works with many other Garmin devices to help you know where the target was located when the shot or range was taken.
This crossbow also has a reverse-draw bow assembly with a 17-inch power stroke which generates greater speed with less draw weight. The RX-Cam System can also rotate 404-degrees to produce speeds of up to 470 feet per second. It only weighs 8 pounds without the accessories making it an incredibly lightweight option.
Being a TenPoint crossbow, it comes with the ACU Slide Silent cocking and de-cocking system. It’s very compact with a stock butt plate that extends 1 inch in ½ inch increments. The Tec-tactical stock is ultra-light and comes fitted as two pieces.
It features the TenPoint S1 trigger and a 2-stage zero-creep design. This delivers a very consistent 3.5-pound pull. The trigger also has a Dry-Fire-Inhibitor and is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush. This helps to improve arrow grip and alignment. It also reduces noise and vibration.
It comes fully assembled and pre-sighted at 20-yards straight out of the box. The package also comes with a narrow soft case, a 6 pack of EVO-X CenterPunch arrows, and a 6 pack of Lighted EVO-X arrows. It also comes with a 6 arrow Tech Quiver, the integrated String Stop System, and the TenPoint System.

If you are looking for the ultimate compact bow, this is by far the best option. It’s 26.5 inches long and 7.5 inches wide, making it much smaller than the average crossbow. Despite it being very compact, it’s still extremely powerful.
The TenPoint designers of this specific crossbow wanted to make something that could feel good in the hands of all sizes of shooters. It also has a reverse-draw system which gives it more speed, power, and accuracy.
The reverse draw system is also what makes it so comfortable. The riser is mounted in the middle of the crossbow when usually it’s at the front in most crossbows. This centers the weight in the middle of the crossbow and makes it easier to focus and hold the target.
The reverse power system also creates a longer power stroke. The power stroke on this model is engaged with the string. Remember that the longer the nock stays on the string, the lore power and accuracy your short will have.
Another important element of this model is the Micro-Trac Barrel. It reduces string-to-rail contact by 50% and gives your strings an additional 1000 shots. In more traditional crossbows, you will be able to see the string wear and tear. The Havoc RS440 allows you to take more shots without needing to replace the strings as often.
As with all TenPoint models, this also as the ACU Slide cocking and de-cocking system. It’s completely silent when you cock the crossbow. However, this is one different feature. You can pause during the cranking process and de-cock the bow much easier compared to other crossbows. This makes it easier to de-cock without damaging the crossbow or possibly injuring your hand.
There are two options for this crossbow, Graphite Gray and Veil Alpine. The package also includes virtually everything you need to get started. It comes with an EVO-X Marksman Elite Scope that will match the color of the crossbow you choose. The Elite Scope also has micro-adjustable external target turrets on it. This allows you to adjust it better for windage and elevation. You can use the dial on the side to easily illuminate the reticles in green or red.
You will also get six EVO-X CenterPunch 16 arrows and a 6-Arrow Tech Quiver. Each arrow is 400 grains, and it is 16 inches long. They can reach a speed of 440fps. You can also always carry 6 arrows with you which takes away the need to constantly retrieve arrows after a few shots.
What we like: Compact and comfortable for all sizes, The package includes everything you need, Different colors and designs to choose from
What we dislike: Expensive compared to other models, The different design might not be liked some if they are already used to the other models

This crossbow is 32 inches long and 11 inches wide when uncocked. It’s 7.2 inches when cocked. This makes it TenPoint’s shortest forward-draw crossbow ever. The power stroke is also 11 inches. It only weighs 7.5 pounds without accessories making it extremely lightweight. Overall, users say it feels easy to handle and can be maneuvered in even tight spaces.
The Viper S400 can shoot arrows up to 400 feet per second, but most users say the arrows can only reach about 370 feet per second. With the Pro-Lite Carbon Arrows made by TenPoint though, you could reach 400 feet per second much easier. These aren’t the arrows that come with the crossbow, so you’ll want to buy them separately.
The Pro-Lite arrows are 75 grains less than the arrows that come with the Viper S400. The crossbow comes with EVO-X CenterPunch arrows.
However, heavier arrows will result in quieter shots. They will also reduce the wear on the strings and limbs. Using the arrows that come with the crossbow package will make your strings last longer even though they won’t be as fast.
The S400 also comes with an amazing scope. The RangeMaster Pro offers extremely clear optics and the magnification ranges from 1.5X to 5X. It can also contrast lines and red or green dots. This scope has been used in TenPoint crossbows for over 5 years now and is one of the best ones that they offer.
The crossbow comes assembled except for the scope. This allows you to get started with hunting much sooner. It’s also very compact, so you don’t need to disassemble it every time you put it away. You can put it on a crossbow stand or just place it in a crossbow case.
It comes with TenPoint’s famous ACU Slide system but with a new integrated brake mechanism. This helps with cranking and unwinding when releasing the handle. It also prevents the bow from dry-firing while cocking and de-cocking. This makes it one of the safest crossbows on the market. The ACU Slide is placed inside the new Tec-X Stock.
It comes with the S1 Trigger that should improve accuracy by 48%. This combined with the innovative cocking system makes the design much more accurate and reliable than other crossbows on the market.
It also comes with a Micro-Trac Barrel. With the new barrel, TenPoint claims that a single string should last up to 1300 shots. The barrel also has two groves where the arrow rests and decreases string-to-rail contact by 50%.
It’s also completely silent when cocking. The package comes with the RangeMaster Pro Scope, the ACU Slide Handle, a 6-arrow tech quiver, and three EVO-X CenterPunch premium carbon arrows.
What we like: Compact and lightweight, Cocking is easy even for new users, Safety features make it great for beginners
What we dislike: The scope is not automatic like some other crossbows, The highest speed can only be reached with different arrows

It’s 7.5 inches when it’s cocked. It’s heavier than other models at 7.5 pounds without the scope and 9 pounds with the scope.
The scope is the 1.5-5x magnification and fully illuminated. It’s rated for crossbows up to 425 feet per second and has aiming points at up to 60 yards. It’s one of the best scopes even from dusk to dawn. It’s also great for low-light conditions.
The cocking system is the same as with the other crossbows but lowers the draw weight by 50 pounds at 220 pounds. The limbs and lower weight will generate fewer sounds and vibrations. The stop system catches the spring at just the right time before it hits the end of the barrel. This makes the snapping sound much quieter.
The crossbow comes fully assembled and is usually sighted in already when you receive it. This makes it perfect for beginners and those who want to get hunting right away.
What we like: Sound reducing qualities, Compact, especially when cocked, Scope works even in low light and dark conditions

There are several factors you should consider when looking to buy a crossbow. If you’re new to using a crossbow, always make sure you receive the proper training and feel confident using it before you go hunting for the first time.
Here are the top things to consider when looking at crossbows:
Budget
Budget is one of the most important factors when it comes to buying a crossbow. You will want to make sure you are getting a quality crossbow that fits your budget. More expensive crossbows may be more lightweight, have better scopes, or better safety features.
The lowest-priced crossbows will usually be around $300-$500. They are best for beginners or youth. Anything less than $300 will probably not have proper quality or safety features.
A crossbow between $500-$1000 will have added features that make shooting easier. Since there is an expensive investment, make sure you try it in person first and make sure it’s a good fit.
Then there are many models that are $1000 or more. If you are already an experienced bowhunter and know you will be using your crossbow exclusively during hunting season, you might want to get one in the higher price range.
The high-dollar crossbows will have upgraded optics and bolts that give you much better performance. Make sure you get a warranty for these crossbows as you want to protect your expensive investment.
State Regulations / Legality
Crossbows are legal for hunting in most states, but you should always check your local requirements before you buy or start using anything. Some states only allow bows for disabled hunters and other states allow people to use bows during gun season.
Some states also only allow bows to be used on private land and ban them in public land. Always check that is allowed as you don’t want to get fined or lose your hunting license.
While using a crossbow may be legal in your state of residence, some features of your bow may still be illegal. Some states ban electronic sights making that red dot a game violation. If you are buying a crossbow package, ensure that every element in the package is legal. Simpler crossbows might be a good start and save you money buy crossbow packages that you can’t even use.
Overall Size & Weight
Size and weight definitely matter, especially if you are young or smaller than average. The crossbow should always be comfortable for you to handle and maneuver. Having a crossbow that is not the best size and weight for you can be a safety hazard and make it harder for you to shoot.
Try to buy your crossbow in person or see if you can practice with it at the store to see if it fits you correctly. An experienced hunter or salesperson should be able to determine if it works for you or not.
Here are recommended draw weights for people:
Speed
The speed is important for a few reasons. With more speed, the more penetration it will have to the target. The faster the speed, the faster it will also be able to target the game and have a more effective range.
Remember that the arrows that come with the crossbow will not always be the fastest option. Buying more lightweight arrows will allow you to reach higher speeds. Heavier speeds will get slower speeds though will get more penetration into the target.
The speed really depends on how experienced you are and what your preferences are. You can also try different arrows to see which ones produce more speed and which ones work the best for you.
TenPoint Crossbows are some of the best bows on the market. They have outstanding scopes, cocking, and de-cocking systems, and are usually very compact and lightweight. They also have options for beginner hunters and experienced hunters.
They also have great safety features which can give you the confidence and skills you need to accurately hunt and practice hitting targets. The best part is that they come assembled and as complete packages.

If you hunt w/lighted nocks you wouldn’t want to purchase any 10 point that shoots 16 in bolts. $99.99 & tax (3) & their knowledge are defective. Lite up constantly
